How do you deal with it especially in an extremely detail oriented, deadline driven environment. Also, where you are completely responsible for everything and any questions to supervision / management are either met with total apathy/indifference or with major attitude & condescension. I have always been told I have to do better analysis, better time management, pay better attention, better organizational skills, blah blah blah. It doesn't help with you have be in the office at 7:30 (but many people get there as early as 5am), stay until 6:30 or later and have a hard deadline to get reports out by 11am. You can only spend so much time on any one issue. If I don't know how to handle something, I either have to hide it, or do what I think is best but sometimes I feel like I don't know what the **** I am doing.

High doses of Prozac seem to help somewhat as well as hitting the gym at least 5 times a week. Plus, I take other supplements & Omega 3 + Flax seed oil pills.

I am getting closer to the 90 day mark at my new job. I figure if they wanted to fire me, they would have done it on or before July 31.

But many times, I feel damned if I do & damned if I don't. Ever feel this extreme anxiety which is sort of like an internal panic attack?? You don't act it out, you just feel frozen where your thoughts are racing all over the place and you are unable to focus.

Yup, that's happened to me at work. I interviewed for a different job within my company (less than 2 years ago) and have since gotten 2 promotions. Different people treat their employees differently.

If you have inside knowledge about other groups, it helps to go to a group where most people are incompetent. It allows you to shine more easily :)

But, all of that depends on the kind of work you do.

You know when something goes wrong & you don't know what you are dong?? I have awakened in dread constantly of going to work, or this feeling that I am always one minute or one problem away from getting terminated. I tried Ritalin for a few years growing up and hated it and have been on a combination of anti depressants, anti anxiety drugs off and on.
