I have been looking for a job for a long time and I noticed that many retail jobs make you take this test-Unicru personality test. Its a test that trys to trick you. They will re word answers, and even ask the same ?'s over and over again. Judging By the questions im wondering if they are checking to see if the applicants have ADD. I was just wondering if any of you guys have taken a test and what you thought of it. There is no diagnostic test for ADHD. They are just looking at personality profiles of the people they hire. Personality has nothing whatsoever to do with adhd, so relax, they are not on a witch hunt.

If you take the test and they tell you that you have adhd (or any disorder) you sue them and they lose. They know this.

I HATE this test. I find it to be prejudiced against people with mental illness. I've heard that if you answer "strongly agree" or "strongly disagree" on every question you get a higher score. I started doing that and it helped!

Like, I hate that one question that says, "I often feel depressed or sad." - agree? disagree? Strongly agree? Strongly disagree?

I had to do this test to get my current job. It was the most excrutiating hour of my life. There is really no point to the test. We don't even look at the scores from the test, it just like if ucanget through this test u can work for us!

I took a test like that for a job once. I aced it. I think. They were very enthusiastic about hiring me anyway. I didn't take the job though.

I guess my point is that you probably do much better on those tests than you think.

It gets easy to figure out the answers they are looing for. I have taken them and just answer the opposite of myself. It works

LOL - I've failed those stupid personality tests twice now, both times I was way overqualified for the job. I had even been temping at one company for a couple of months and they were about to hire me until I took their stupid test. Wonder what kind of score I got on that one. :D

I don't think they're specifically trying to weed out ADDers. It just happens because those tests are designed to figure out if you're a good fit for the typical office environment. Most non-NTs (ADD, bipolar, Asperger's, etc.) are a little too nonconformist for that.

And I agree that the questions were too repetitive. I wonder if they did that on purpose to catch the ADDers who couldn't remember what they answered the first 2 times. :)

They're not only stupid but in my opinion they're being prejudicial towards people who are introverted or suffer from mental illness. There are many of us who though are introverted and suffer form mental illness, are still conscientious, hard working, etc. It's just discriminating against certain types of people. I'm surprised no one has tried to take legal action....

What does this test measure? Most people seem to first decide what they think the "right" or "best" answer for getting hired is, and then apply it. Most self-reported psychological tests ask the same question several different ways, and weight the responses based on consistency.

So the test probably measures your perception of ideal attitudes and behavior in the workplace, and your ability to model it consistently with your answers. In other words, ability to fit in.
