so..
My new Pdoc has recently (august 9th) started me on 20 mg x2 of generic (Apothecon Inc) ritalin IR. Along with 10MG of lexipro. All i experience from the ritalin is a very short duration of euphoria, followed by a hour or 2 of hyperfocus on things that i don't care about. If i'm not hyperfocusing im experiencing even more symptoms of ADD. Then depression sets in, which isn't good when you already have depression and trying to treat it.
I plan on talking to my doc about it but i'd like some feedback first.
I'm assuming lessoning the dosage will get rid of the euphoria, but is this the answer? is dosage adjustment a big problem? will dividing my doses into 10 x 3/4 be a better solution?
i DO experience clarity that i never had before (except it's bottled up because of the hyperfocus), so i'm really hoping dosing is something important with this treatment. I'd like to note i had minimal results with focalin extended release even at 20MG. too many ups and downs. (except one day on 10 mg of the focalin i spent 12 hours writing a report for a family member without getting up once, i lost complete track of time, and was depressed the entire time but couldn't stop)
Also note, i've been on klonopin .5 mg steady since last november. But i've been told the only effect it will have is a calming one.
edit:
The more i think about it, the more these are the symptoms of a recreational college user. This is very distressing to me. I've been diagnosed by 2 pdocs, with extensive history reports etc. My abstinence from drugs and alcohol was well known. If i don't indeed have add i'd really like to know what i can do about the symptoms.
I also have extreme social phobia, the amount of stimuli is VERY limited to my house/room. Wow so many factors.
