NO posts involving O.D.s, illegal or improper use of Medication are allowed
<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->In an effort to protect all who use these forums, no posts will be allowed that involve illegal or improper use of medication of any kind. We do not condone illegal or improper use and do not wish to be a source of information for people who would use medication this way. This includes talk about overdoses or O.D.'s.

IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE OVERDOSED OR TAKEN TOO MUCH MEDICATION OR ARE HAVING SIDE EFFECTS THAT ARE SEVERE ENOUGH THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE HEALTH, DON'T WASTE TIME BY POSTING HERE - GO TO THE HOSPITAL, CALL YOUR DOCTOR OR LOCAL CRISIS HOTLINE, AND DO IT NOW!

ALL POSTS THAT DEAL WITH THE ABOVE ISSUES WILL BE DELETED AS SOON AS THEY ARE DISCOVERED.

We at ADDFORUMS aren't trained to handle a crisis, we can't track down a person in need of assistance and we can't summon help. To put the people here in the position where they feel that they have to do such things is not acceptable.

I'm sure we could help regarding questions by suicidal people.

I'm sure they realize we're not trained to handle a crisis but answering a single question could always be the difference between life and death for someone.

Are there any forums we could refer them to? Because I doubt they're going to go to the hospital and many countries don't have a crisis hot line.

I understand you guys have to follow the rules but the guidelines state:

Posts that create an unnecessary amount of conflict and serve no further purpose may be closed I don't think the post that was deleted caused any conflict and it served the purpose of educating the suicidal poster.

I know you guys will disagree but I had to say this because I felt quite upset over what had happened and that doesn't happen very often.

It wasn't removed for any conflict, that's just a piece of guideline that happened to be copied into my post in regards to why threads and posts are sometimes removed, the point being that it is at the discretion of the moderators.

In regards to suicidal posts, we do not insensitively kick the person aside. They are pmd the reason we had to remove the post and we follow up on how they are doing. Some have also had knowledgable moderators point them to threads that might help them.

Thank you for your concern.
