Anyone on or been on this specific combination?
If you have...what dosage?
What is now or has been your experience(s) with it?
Would genuinely appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!

My son takes Prozac, Adderal and Dexedrine plus Clonidine at bedtime. The Adderal is in the morning, he takes Dex after school. The prozac is for depression of course and the Clonidine is for a tic that was a side effect of the adderal and to help him sleep. He did take welbutrin last summer but it seemed to stop working so was switched to Prozac.

I was on Paxil and Adderall.
Paxil 10 mg.
Adderall 40 mg.
Paxil helped get rid of my panic attacks. Coming off it was the worst experience of my life- suicidal even. If I had to do it again, I'd have only taken it for a few months if at all, instead of a year or a year and a half.
Adderall didn't help as much, so I switched back to Concerta 72 mg.
Paxil and Adderall don't negatively affect each other, or at least they didn't for me.

Every time I read this I get more and more irritated. I have always known that our generation have been the SSRI guinea pigs - and for the most part I have been ok with that mostly because back when I was having black hole clinical depressions I would have taken arsenic if I thought I would get an hour of relief. That being said....5 years of Paxil at 50MG a day has put me in a real fix. I'm having issues getting a good combo - for a while Adderall in addition to the Paxil was a Godsend...though I finally found the holy grail after a lifetime of suffering. But after 6 months, I went back to square one and I will have great difficulty finding out if the Paxil is the offending evil in the mix because most doctors I have seen are very reluctant to wean me off of it.
After doing some reading I can see WHY!!! Side effects of Paxil withdrawal ....up to a year of terrible depression....physical symptoms that resemble the flu - FOR UP TO A YEAR!!... Granted that may not be true for everyone but I would tend to think that after taking a high dose for 5 years I will be one of the ones that will suffer to the fullest extent when trying to get it out of my bloodstream. It is very frustrating and I just tend to think this is something the manufacturers could have foreseen during drug trials. Can they practically see what it will do after decades of use....of course not. But I think they could have foreseen a withdrawal this drastic after even a year of use before approval.
tlv822, is there something they can give you to take while your body is going off the Paxil?

Paxil 10 mg. - past 8 years +
Wellbutrin XL 300 mg. - past 6 mos
I take both in the morning. Have been reducing the dosage of Paxil for a reeeeeally long (over a year) time and am down to 10mg. from 30mg. Goal is 0mg paxil.
I will probably use Prozac to buffer the effects of the paxil withdrawel - both physical and emotional -- the rest of the way. Up until now dropping below 10mg has made me the biggest jerk possible to those around me (or is it that my "jerkness" is just not hidden anymore --hmmmm).
Only reason I want off of paxil is because I want off of it.... no negative effects for me and it has been very effective.
Wellbutrin has helped quite a bit. Tried Adderall, Straterra, Concerta, Ritalin, hated all of them.

What I have read....and am going to talk to my doc about next appt...is that it can be easier if you take Prozac while titrating down. The reason is because Prozac has a much longer half-life than Paxil (Paxil's is very short which may explain part of the problem with withdrawal).
My doctor has been reluctant to try...and I don't fault him for that from what I have read. HIs strategy so far has been to add to/switch around other meds within the equation which I am sure has been to spare me possible long-term pain and discomfort. But the Paxil is beginning to become the elephant in the room. I am running out of options with ADD meds and Wellbutrin has been a bust in this mix so.....it is becoming unavoidable.
I'm hoping the Prozac strategy will work.
