I was wondering if you guys have any plans to enable the ADD Forums RSS Feeds. I'd really love to add the feed to some of my sites.

Tara 08-31-07, 02:45 PM Has any thought been given to this question? livinginchaos 08-31-07, 05:01 PM I wish i could give you a response to your question, but it's not within my realm. But, I think admin would be able to give your question some thought. FrazzleDazzle 08-31-07, 06:20 PM Can I ask a silly question, and ask what the RSS feeds means exactly? It is a feature I have seen here and there on the web, and may be something I would be interested in using. Tara 08-31-07, 06:28 PM RSS Stand for Really Simply Sydication. Here's link to something that explains it better tha I could http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format) If ADD Forums enabled the RSS Feeds I would be able to have links to the most recent threads/posts on my blogs and other sites. Imnapl 08-31-07, 06:49 PM Or you could try this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS Andrew 08-31-07, 09:05 PM I was wondering if you guys have any plans to enable the ADD Forums RSS Feeds. Stay tuned! :) Tara 09-02-07, 04:31 PM Thank You!!!! CynicallyNaive 11-05-07, 05:22 PM I was wondering if you guys have any plans to enable the ADD Forums RSS Feeds. For an additional two-sentence example, I like the Jobs/Careers forum (http://addforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=60) here -- but it only gets a few posts a day. So checking it every few minutes is really dumb of me, and I'd rather check one place that "aggregates" dozens or hundreds of sites I care about and tells me if there's anything new. I suggest you set up a Google Reader (http://www.google.com/reader/)account and see for yourself. ---- +1 vote for Tara's suggestion (with the amendment that Atom would be even better than RSS, but either would be far far far better than neither -- usually they're both called "syndication", and a lot of the time people say RSS meaning Atom anyway). Syndication is really really important to me, far more than many of the cosmetic enhancements that seem to have been prioritized over the years. Just one man's opinion. I have no idea if current versions of vBulletin support RSS or Atom. There are free lightweight message boards that do: e.g., Beast (http://beast.caboo.se/). Tara 11-05-07, 05:34 PM It's supposed to be very simple to do using vBulletin too. From what I have been told by others using this software it takes about 30 seconds to turn on. Andrew 11-05-07, 08:42 PM Its on the list of things to add when we turn switch to ADD Forums 3.0 :) Tara 01-04-08, 12:42 AM Any news on the status of the RSS Feeds? Andrew 01-04-08, 09:12 AM We've got the feature installed. Now we just need to set it up properly to spit out feeds. We're going as fast as we can to implement and finely tune the features of the new software. Admins have limited resources and time during a day to work on all this...so, please bare with us. Tara 01-04-08, 02:07 PM I got it to work on my end and added to one site already! http://www.adhdawareness.org/page/Online+Communities Thanks! David 01-04-08, 08:42 PM Excellent, Tara.. |
