From our guidelines:

Moderators & Administrators:
Moderators are chosen by the Admins, no application to become a Moderator will necessarily be read or acknowledged.

Their duties include keeping the peace as well as enforcing these policies.
In general what is looked for is a consistent presence and contributions to the forums; it also may include their knowlege in certain areas of the forum and their general repoirte to other members.

This answer is not from Administration, it is entirely up to them who they feel will best fit the needs of the forum.

I wanted to be one too, but I guess I was getting a bit NPD for a bit

While many people ask to be moderator or administrator, knowing what it entails after trying and have failed, I don't ask to become one.

Hey there Mspen, I don't think your wanting to be a moderator is a narcissistic thing. I have been a member at other forums for years, and have never wanted to be a moderator before ( I do realise the amount of work it can be, particularly when flooded with spammers). I think it is great if you want to be helpful here. My suggestion is to continue posting where you are most interested in posting, because your participation does not go unnoticed.

Well for someone who was bored and almost was banned twice or three times (don't remember) I guess a little bit of sarcasm is needed, everyone at ADDforums get to enjoy the blessings of a sincere, pleasant person who always is in an exuberant pleasant mood and chooses appropriate, effective ways of letting that show. Maybe my NPD is getting to my head huh? My new psychiatrist couldn't decide ASPD or NPD, I was in a room with three people and the other two were going to go with Borderline, so I don't feel like dirt for having two PD's in that case, when mental health professionals suspect Borderline, they have a way of communicating that irks me.

Ugh! I am sure that would make me feel like something on a slide under a microscope, or some exotic mold on a petri dish.

At least you are taking it well! Its nice to see your humor showing through in spite of the last several month's difficulties.

And hey, imagine what a usertitle you could add under your name if you wanted one? It could run so long it went across the page!! :D
