Okay, so here is a good question. based on the 30 day supply rule of adderall, what if I really think my dose is too high and it's XR? I can't take less as it's only 1 pill.

If I were to call my psychiatrist and tell him that I think it might be too high, would he be able to write another prescription for the lower dose, even though it's not been 30 days? Would I need to bring in my bottle or something?

Yes, it would be possible for you to get a "new" prescription for a different size pill, and have it filled without a problem.
It's only "refills" of the same thing that you can't get until the supply you have should have been used up.

The pharmacy won't make you turn in your current bottle of pills, but I have heard of a few doctors that do, just to show you're not abusing them. But most don't ask that, they leave you with both dosage sizes in case you guessed wrong and need the original dose after all.

Technically, a doctor could write you 3 different prescriptions for Adderall at the same time - one for 10mg, 20mg, 30mg:eyebrow:

The thing is that none of them can be refilled. You have to have a new prescription every month (or every 30 days).
