My wife and son need me to spend a lot of time with them.

But I need to spend a lot of time alone.

There's really nothing more to say about this one. It isn't complicated. Just impossible.

I experience the same thing. Thankfully, my job takes me out of the house and on the road from time to time. Hang in there, my friend.

Paul, explain to your wife that you need some time out for yourself so that you can truely be there for her. Then get her some antidepressants so that she can cope with you not being there all the time.

Everyone needs time to themselves; have you tried setting a time table. ie my husband likes to be left alone for an hour after work...I like to be left alone at nights...the kids they just pick their time; but, we are all respectfull of the other's wishes. And this is NOt making sense lol

Makes perfect sense to ME. ME understanding it is not the problem...
