I am on the following: Dexedrine (15mg a day), Lithium (750mg a day, but cut myself to 600...), Celexa (20mg a day)

I sweat easily (i think because of the dex), some days I feel so fat and lack any kind of drive. I want to lose some weight, but it's hard to do that when the thought of exercise p!sses you off mostly because I hate sweating, I don't understand how people go to the gym everyday.. it's disgusting and annoying, sweat fr!ggen sux. I have no ambition, no discipline. I assume this is a depression thing, I hate when I see people who have ambition and discipline, mostly because I get jealous.

I want to go off Lithium completely, cause I think it helps further weight gain.

I want to feel healthy, lose weight, etc... but when you are bipolar-depressed-adhd type person, it's pretty fr!ggen hard to accomplish anything.

It seems like all I can do is b!tch and moan about it.

Hey Grimlock! I was expecting to see you in the Bipolar area :) Venting is something we all need to do sometimes.

I sort of think dex makes me sweat more than I'd like to, too, and I take a lot more than you do  I must be really gross!

Is the doc weaning you off the Lithium now?

No, he still wants me on Lithium as far as I know. Do you think it's normal to be on both Lithium & Dexedrine at the same time? Is it true Lithium is a weight gainer naturally, cause if so I definately don't like that...

Well, ya know, normal is a relative term ;).

I take dexedrince with my BP meds, and that works for me. I know that some can combine stimulants and BP meds and others cannot. Varies from person to person.

As far as I can see from some fast researching, weight gain does seem to be a common side effect of Lithium.

I do think its very important to talk to your doctor about reducing the Lithium before just reducing your intake on your own. I also think you might want to mention the sweating. I found this:

Use extra care in hot weather and during activities that cause you to sweat heavily, such as hot baths, saunas, or exercising . The loss of too much water and salt from your body could lead to serious side effects from this medicine.

The same applied to dieting.
