Hi everyone!

I have recently been diagnosed with Adult ADHD.
I was prescribed 10mgs. one time daily, 3 weeks ago.
I started 15mgs., one time daily, 7 days ago.

I had an RNY gastric bypass in 2005. My stomach is the size of a golfball and 5ft. of my small intestine was bypassed.

I have noticed the following from Day 1.
My legs are no longer in "constant motion"
I sleep 4-5 hours straight, something I haven't done in years.
I do not feel so detached from people.
I have a general feeling of well-being.

BUT,
I still am not focusing or concentrating well.
I get irritable and sleepy 3 hours after taking it.

My shrink knows I have had a bypass and she seems to take this into consideration. I am not sure of her experience with this situation???
I am looking for someone who mite have insight into the malabsorbtion issues with Adderall XR.
and any advice anyone can give me!

TY,
hippie

(I am a 50 yr. old woman)

Any extended release med probably won't do much for you is my guess. You'd probably benefit more by going to an IR form of Adderall,Dex,Ritalin,etc.... or try the Daytrana patch since that would take all the absorption issues out of the equation.JR
