i am switching from 56 mg of concetra to 20 mg of Adderal xr (to start with).

has anyone done this?

if so what changes can i expect?

how is concerta different then Adderal?

is there anything about adderal i should know?

I did the exact opposite except it was 20mg of Adderall to 36mg of concerta.

To me Adderall was very harsh on my system. It really speed up my heart rate. Also, if I took it for a few days consequativly, then took a break, I really felt tired and lethargic the next day. It gave me dry mouth, totally killed my appetite, and made it hard for me to sleep. Also, when the meds kicked in I usually got dirrahea (sorry gorss ^^; ) The worst part about it was my moods though, it made me very depressed and crabby.

I personally like concerta way better, but I dont respond well to amphetamines. I've tried both Adderall and Vyvance and they both made me feel really crappy. I just respond to ritalin better, everyone is differant.

i really like concerta and really do not want to switch but my skin has taken a beating and my doctor wants to see id Adderall helps since i have never had acne before

Have you changed your diet since starting concerta? I know the appetite suppression makes it really hard for me to eat much, which means i mostly drink soda. The result of that is that I break out. I noticed my skin got bad with vyvance, but I never figured out if it was what I was eating or the med :\.

Have you been on concerta long? A lot of the side effects diminish over time.

I use neutragena on the spot for break outs, it's the best stuff out there for them imo.

i have been taking 5-6 month. I eat pretty healthy and It does not decrease my appetite in fact I eat better and sleep better on it.

I have been using acne free fash wash system...it only works for part of the month. my skin just gets worse.

you know now that you mention it. my skin has started breaking out. I have had acne in the past, but since taking Zoloft, it virtually dissappeared. Now I have added Adderall and my skin is breaking out. HHHmmmm?

well i hope the adderall does not do this to me

I've also noticed that since I switched to concerta, my skin has been improving. So it is likely that Vyvanse was what was causing my problem. Try doing a forum search on it, I'm pretty sure i've read some threads on it in the past.

does anyone know if only 20 mg of adderall xr will be enough in comparison to my concerta 56 mg??

27mg Concerta = 10mg Adderall xr
36mg Concerta = 20mg Adderall xr
54mg Concerta = 25mg - 30mg of Adderall xr.
