So I got the coupon for the Vyvanse...went to my doctors...and asked her if I could try this. (I am currently on 30 mg of adderall IR 3X a day...generic ranbaxy pink ones) Since Vyvanse is suppose to last all day. She gave me the 50 mg ones. So I took 1 50MG 12 days ago and....felt nothing until 3 hours later.....felt somthing similar to taken 15 mg of adderall IR or like the first 4 hours of adderall XR 30MG. It was smooth and not as harsh as adderall IR and smoother than adderall XR...so a couple of days later I felt 1 50mg pill was not that effective...so with doctors approval I took 2 50MG (100MG vyvanse) it still took 3 hours to work but that worked very well for me..It felt better than adderall....more motivation and focus.....But it wore off in about 5 hours or so....and you better have water....cause you will need it gave me cotton mouth big time....also I had some stomach pains(first 2 days out of 12).... So after a few days I found what worked best was taking 30 mg of adderall IR with 50 mg of vyvanse in the morning(5:30 am) than 8 hours later (1:30pm) take 30 mg of adderall IR. I would get just about 12-13 hours of coverage verses 9 or 10 hours with adderall IR alone...plus it was less harsh. So i'm thinking Dex. IR with Vyvanse would work best..since they are the same drug. I have a ??? what dosage of DEX is compared to 30 mg of adderall IR....So anyways as I see it Vyvanse still needs help with a booster dose at least for me just like adderall XR...But the vyvanse is very smooth and works better than adderall alone...Also one day I took 3 50 MG (150 mg Vyvanse) and in 3 hours felt like crap...which to me means taking more won't make it work better also one day I took 50mg morning and another 50mg 6 hours later....and really never felt the second dose kicking in...so.....The way it seems to work best for me is finding the right dosage 100MG taken alone(5 or six hours of coverage) or 50 mabey 70 MG taken with a booster(12-13 hours of coverage). I will see how the next 10 days go till my next appointment with my doctor....and see what she thinks.

I just started my free trial of Vyvanse yesterday (only 30mg though).
Dex is about equal to Adderall on a mg per mg basis give or take.

The dosing on Vyvanse is a bit deceving though since a major portion of the pill actually is the amino acid that the body cleaves off while digesting the pill.

30mg of Vyvanse ~ 10mg Adderall XR
50mg of Vyvnase ~ 20mg Adderall XR
70mg of Vyvnase ~ 30mg Adderall XR

So, in essence to equal your 90mg of Adderall IR each day you would need to take (3) 70mg Vyvnase pills. The problem is that your body can only convert the med to d-amphetamine at a certain pace which is why the effects comes on so slowly and steadily (no rush/euphoria). Taking more and more Vyvnase won't speed up the process because your small intestine can only work so fast.

I got a rush/euphoria with Vyvance, but amphetamines tend to speed me up, where ritalin slows me down.

Does Vyvanse help with concentration? I took Strattera and it doesn't work.
I was on Adderall 10 mg and the doc is switching me to 30 mg ofVyvanse, but said it doesn't work like a stimulant. But after I read about it, it seems that it "IS" a stimulant? Does anyone know for sure?

The website states it as "the first pro-drug stimulant" so my guess is that it is truly a stimulant. Vyvanse should but may not help with concentration.

My psychiatrist said the same thing, but Vyvanse is defiently a stimulant (it's an amphetamine, so...). Aside from it technically BEING a stimulant, it also works like a stimulant. From experience, it has decreased my appetite and made me more awake and motivated.
...kinda like a stimulant. Haha.

My personal experience with Vyvanse, science aside... I feel that on Vyvance my intellicet is much stronger even if my motivation/energy isn't. Adderall I feel more energetic and more likely to go out and "do stuff, get stuff done, still be sharp, ect"... where with Vyvanse I'm much more passive but thinking very clearly on a very large scope. I would say if I had a lot of computer work, ect... to do, I would take Vyvanse. If I had to be working, outside the house, dealing with people, getting things done, ect... I would take Adderall.

Like I said, science aside. I'm sure many will be here to argue that it breaks down into the same amphetamine... at least one of them anyway :-)

The adderal prob gives you more of the pns effect because of the levo isomer(also has the dextro(think it is 1/4 levo and 3/4 dextro) while vyvanse is a "pure" drug it only gives you the dextro isomer
