Hi

I was just curious if anyone here made the switch from Adderall to Dexedrine or vice versa and could maybe share some of their experience. I'm only on day 2 of Dex (generic Barr), and so far it seems a bit smoother. Although I felt more dehydrated and more appetite suppressant properties from the Adderall, it seemed to have a better effect on my motivation and mood. It's gonna be a tough call since I sort of need the extra motivation and mood enhancement, but at the same time I can't tolerate not having an appetite and being dehydrated all the time.

I was on 10-20mg Adderall XR for about 4 weeks. I'm now on up to 20mg Dex IR, in increments of 5mg. Tried the full 10mg twice daily yesterday but felt too spaced out most the time.

I've tried both and am currently trying a free trial of Vyvanse. Adderall, while mostly dexedrine in various forms also contains about 1/4 l-amphetamine. The l-amphetamine acts more on norephinephrine and gives you what I like to call the 'motivational kick-in-the-butt' but also results in more physical side effects that Dex doesn't usually give.

Some do fine on both, some prefer one or the other but only you can truly decide what works best for you.
