i would just like to share with everyone something that helps me day to day, deal with the frustrations of ADD. there is a natural vitamin supplement out there by the name of 5-HTP. it helps you concentrate, sleep better, wake up better, and just deal with daily frustrations alot better. check it out if you have the chance. most vitamin stores have 5-htp

Dr. Daniel Amen recommends 5-HTP as a good thing, can be part of an effective treatment for at least some forms of ADD... my wife works in a GNC (health products and vitamins) and she says that it is indeed a good product. She gets the inside scoop--usually--on what stuff is good, and what stuff is quackery or dangerous... if not from the companies, then from the customers who buy (or don't buy) the products.

Whoa, I have a bottle of that too. I'll have to get on that again; and actually PAY ATTENTION to see if it improves anything! (one of those supplements I bought and then forgot about! Hope it's still good)

I've taken it in the past and didn't feel a darn thing. I took the dosage recommended on the package, and have found with other supplements that you have to take more than the package recommends to feel any results. But I was hesitant to do that with the 5-HTP b/c my energy level isn't the highest to begin with (I'm ADD inattentive, not ADHD). What do people find is an effective dose? I'm particularly interested in hearing from ADD women, since we have the highest body fat percentage to contend with. Thanks!

Hot rhymes from an A Phi O. Two of my best friends in college were A Phi Os. And everyone smart quotes Doctor Seuss.

But I'm missing the special good newss I can use --
What "grammage" of 5HTP did you use?

(My pathetic attempt to do Doctor Suess too(ss).)
