I'm tired of SAD being such an issue in my life and I want to do something about it. Has anyone had experiance with therapy or medication for sad? Was it helpful? My doctor put me on paxil a while ago, but I decided not to take it after hearing all the horror stories :s

SAD is the acronym usually used for seasonal affective disorder.

Paxil is the #1 med used for anxiety disorders.

People who commit suicide on SSRIs have often shown aggressive thoughts and feelings previously, which can suggest homicide or suicide risk...

If you are concerned about side effects, ask your Doc if you can check in every two weeks after starting this medication, or can phone if you have a problem with it.

Paxil also wears off quickly, so if you run into any side effect problems, it will be out of your system within a day or so.

The withdrawal syndromes reported widely in the media can be stopped by taking one dose of Prozac.

If you need more details on that regimen (withdrawing from Paxil or Effexor), you can PM me.

I think she was talking about Social Anxiety Disorder which I have quite commonly also seen abreviated as SAD.
