Ok to start out with im a 19 year old male. Ever since I can remember(6th Grade) I was always seen as the "dumb" kid. made people laught at the dumb things I would say, ect. At the point in my life right now I am still seen as this nearly all of the time. I mess up more than anyone I know at work, I work at a local diner. I cant come back to defend myself when joking, I say stuff that doesnt make sense. I loose my keys, wallet, and cell phone all the time. I have the most horrific procrastination problem unless its something I truly desire to do, then I excel at it. There are many others including confidence which I have 15% of the time, and forgeting things alot..
My friend gave me something called adderal, it made me feel organzized, confident, and much smarter. Kinda like everything slowed down in my head so that I could better reason it, but time itself didn't. Ive been reading tons, and tons of self help books since i was 17 upward. My mom had a major depression and my dad shows same traits that I do. Im just wondering if this may be adult add, I really just want help and the steps to get help. So please leave any feedback you can. thanks :)

Also I for some reason its really hard for me to figure out what to do next. For instance someone will order, another person will have me get a refill on there drink, another person some kecthup. I take it in but can only focus on one thing at a time while forgetting everything else.
Here is a link to the diagnostic criteria for ADHD:

The link also leads to lots of useful information on where to find a doctor, etc...
If you think you have adhd you can start addressing it by talking to your MD. From there you might wish to go to a neuropsychologist for formal testing and evaluation. After that you might wish to seek out a psychiatrist who specializes in treating adult ADHD for treatment. If your funds are limited your regular physician is allowed to diagnose and treat ADHD, but if you have good insurance you will probably want to get a formal diagnosis then seek treatment from a specialist.
ME :D
I reckon' you're a spittin image of me!
I can never come up with decent comebacks, I procrastinate procrastinating, and being a server was a nightmare!!
I couldn't do things in order as a waitress. Refills, plates, food, seating, orders - It was all a mangled blur really. I tried my hardest and could never do things right. Forgetting to put orders into the computer was the worst - My only excuse was that I simply forgot.
I was 17 then... 18 now. I recently considered adhd and am trying out focalin - a stimulant that has been helping so far. Though I am on the highest dose.. I think.. I am still very adhd but it does help somewhat.
By what you've said ... I'd say it is very possible you have add/adhd ... but it really depends on how you react to the medication in my opinion. :)

Well the symptoms you describe sound very much like ADHD. What I would say is the real kicker is that with a stimulant you found yourself 'better' in terms of managing those symptoms.
However I am a bit troubled that your friend would give you a prescribed substance. That is super super dangerous! Unless your friend has M.D after their name, they have absolutely no business giving you any drug whatsoever. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's true. Even if Adderall were to work for you, your friend has no idea what dose is correct and what affect that dose has on your body. I'm willing to guess your friend didn't ask you what other medications you were taking or if you had any major health issues?
Anyway, I would take this information to a doctor. Mention that Adderall did make things better and that should speed up a proper diagnosis.
