Hi there,
I've been taking Adderall IR for almost two weeks and have seen major life changing improvements. My prescribed dose is 20 mg in the morning. My doc said I could take a 10 mg dose first thing and then the next 10 an hour or so later. Or, I could take the entire 20mg at once. Here are a few observations/questions:

10mg by itself doesn't really do much for me...neither does the entire 20mg at one time. However, I have found that 15mg gives me the best mental focus/productivity. When I take a full 20mg at one time I don't have any uncomfortable side effects, I just don't have the mental clarity and focus. I'm wandering around the house forgetting what I was trying to do etc. Is this possible? Does this mean that 20 mg is too much? Can too much of a med make your ADD symptoms worse? I know too much can cause physical discomfort....increased heart rate, drowsiness or speediness etc.

Also, and this is a bit embarrassing, I think my feet may be sweating more than usual. They itch and tingle with a pins and needles kind of thing, keeping me up at night (my fingers are doing the same thing, but not nearly as badly). My primary care doc says I have a fungal infection, probably from the increased sweating. So, I'm wondering, does the sweating go away or is this an indication that my dose is too high? What about the pins and needles thing? Is this a normal side effect of stimulants or an indication that a dose is too high? Or the fungal infection manifesting itself?

I can live w/ the sweaty side effects. They're not that noticeable, but if they cause recurrent fungal infections I'm not so sure. It would be a bummer to have to back off of the 15mg since I've been doing so well. I also know that I need to talk to my doctor about adding a noon dose since the morning dose wears off 4 or so hours after I take it. So, backing off isn't the direction I want to go in.

One more general question regarding how the drug works. Do subsequent doses throughout the day build upon each other. For example if you take a morning dose, then a noon dose, followed by a 4pm dose do they take what hasn't been metabolized and piggy back one another giving you more than you would get by just taking one single dose? Does that make sense?

Sorry for the long winded post and thanks in advance for any help or feedback.

I'm new to Adderall too and wondering the same things. Hopefully this will bump it up and find some answers.

err... not the sweaty feet part though. ;)

Do you get the Ranbaxy Generics, they are pink if you get the 20 mg ones, I remember that generic making me sweat
