Hello!
I am an adult with ADD. Been diagnosed since first grade.
I very seriously suspect my oldest daughter also has ADD. I have talked to her teacher, and she agrees that this is something we should look into.
I guess my question is...
do any of you know of a good book that I can use to explain to my daughter what ADD is? She is 8 years old, and in third grade.
Or, is there a good website that will have some ideas?
She is not hyperactive, just distracted and inattentive.

thanks a ton!

HI CJ, and welcome here to the forums. We suspected innattentive in my son at around age 8 as well. I found a cute book on Amazon at the time, called "Learning to Slow Down and Pay Attention - A book for kids about ADD." It has some really cute cartoons, and is really at a child's level, and has some great ideas for coping. Very child and user friendly. If you check on Amazon, there are other great books too.

At the time, I also got the Hallowell book Driven to Distraction for me to understand him better, and there is also a newer book by him Delivered from Distraction. Both excellent reads.
