Ok this is my first post on the forum. I have not been proffesionally diagnosed for ADD... But I have checked out a lot of web sites on the net about the symptoms of ADD and I have about 99% of them for as long as I can think of.
My question is do any of you guys or gals have trouble carrying on a conversation such as paying attention to the person talking to me and even if I am paying attention I usually do not know what to say or I just cant bring the right words up. Do stimulant medications help this out? Another thing I noticed is when I drink alcohol I seem to be able to follow conversation and people alot better does anyone else notice this?

Yes, yes & yes.

ADD/ADHD meds (not just the stimulant kind) do help many with these symptoms.

Alchohol & many other drugs have a similar affect on ADDers.

I always have problems with hold a convo and paying attention...people sometimes get offended case I can not keep eye contact.

Medications also help me out lots, but when I drink I seem to get more physicological and wild:D fun person to be around because I become more outrageous and bold. Unforunetly if you talked to me while I am blitzed I will be like Huh???? I think it all depends what type of person you are...the sauce has different affects on People just like medications...but I erge that you not do both at the same time that really messes you up(speaking from foolish experience)!

They do have really good phyciatrist out there to properly diagnose ADD/ADHD..trick is to find one that did not get degree from a cracker jack box;).

I find I get bored listening to conversations as people take so long to say something and I forget what there talking about .

I can usually find what I want to say but people find me as being very blunt.

I get right to the matter of saying what I have to say so I guess that would put me in the same catagory in that I cant find the correct words for small talk
