Hi there everyone! I am so happy to have found this forum. I have ADHD and there is no doubt in my mnd that my son suffers from it as well.

I have been procrastinating on getting him any medication b/c I was hoping he would somehow grow out of it ...but he hasn't. Now that he is a teenager the problem is only getting worse...

I am on adderall but I don't want him on this b/c I am worried about stunted growth. I wish I could afford biofeedback for him.

What add medication would be the best for him....? Any opinions? I am looking for one that will not stunt his growth...

Thanks in advance ....

Welcome to the forums!

It's hard to say what medication would be best for anyone. Some work great for one person, and horrible for another. It's really just a matter of trial and error (more of the second at times). Not the think you wanted to hear, I'm sure, but the truth.

If it's just weight issues you are worried about, there are ways to sneak in extra callories without too much troubble. I'd really suggest that you take him to be exaluated and then make sure you express your concerns about weight to the doctor.

ADD/ADHD is a neurological disorder.

Would you "procrastinate" on getting your son meds if had another neurological condition like epilepsy?

something to think about.
