Do your actions get misrepresented the real you? Do you feel that people talk behind your back because of your actions? I get this feeling often but it could be due to paranoia.

I feel like this a lot of times. Like for instance, calling into work. I always, and always have felt bad for calling into work. In my mind my employer or co workers are always thinking... she's not sick, she's just lazy. I also have the special gift of making things sound... the word i want to use i can't use on the board.... worse than they are, almost like they are meaner. I dont know that this makes me a controversial person, but it does make me kinda hard to get along with and I tend to be very argumentative.

I would definitely say so, as others often will have their own opinions as to how things should be done, and such opinions are often biased. This isn't necessarily an ADD issue, but there may be a correlation, simply as we may need to act in unique ways to get around certain ADD issues. I can't really see how thinking that others use oneself as a conversation topic would be paranoia, as just having any involvement whatsoever in any group where conversations take place would give away that fact that many people like to discuss issues such as.... other people.

yep, happens to me as well. I always felt that it was paranoia but I turly don't think it is. I know I am different from most and I tend to think people talk about me because of it.

hmmm I don't know really and I really don't care. . . .nor do I really care to know.

If I am all they have to talk about their lives are more pathetic than mine will ever be. {IMHO of coarse}

I think I agree with Meadd,

I know that for the most part, my actions portray me, and would hope that when I am having a bad day, that others would recognize that, and not blame me unfairly for it.

I am a relatively controversial person, and people do frequently talk about my behavior but I don't actually care though...

I'm very controversal when in comes to politics and global issues and I do have a different way of looking at the world and speaking my mind that others might not appreciate or understand but as the other posters said I really don't care as long as I don't hurt anyone and I respect other peoples opinions (not always an easy task) But I will say that if you are going to be controversal be prepared to back it up somehow.

I do attempt to identify with others opinions, as I generally wouldn't see other's opinions as completely flawed, especially concerning my disagreement. I think one's environment, strengths, capacities, and perhaps general personality issues will shape what direction one tends to go with certain opinions (kind of the same way that an ADD person would probably be negative about having an accounting position?), but in other little subtle ways...

I think I've started to handle the idea of negative "gossip" a bit better lately... especially seeing the same negatives in the ones advertising the negatives in the first place. That contradiction helps me because such behavior becomes less of an insult and more of a joke.

I seem to hold some sort of a position of importance among my friends, and this takes me rather guilty. I have enough charisma that people will follow me, but not enough endurance to get to where they thought they were following me to, if that makes any sense. Sort of like the Pied Piper only I never get anywhere near the river with my audience of rats. Grin.

Yep you got it right on . . . . which proves what other people say and do are a reflection of who they are having little or nothing to do with me, which is basically why I do not care to know - I have no need to.

let's just say,... YES..

fOR one, I do not wear shoes... case in point, eh??

Another point.. I have very outlandish ideas (seemingly)..

By outlandish, I mean, people see me as out of place (which in turn, makes me feel out of place) .. is there no room for sanctuary in my life?..?.

Ever see that movie? APOCALYPTO?, Well, I did a couple of months ago, GREAT!, HE realizes

this situation is all over the place.. . .

I tend to have people who talk about me a lot, like they are jealous because I am different in a lot of ways.

Yes I fit this category too. I've already felt I've been controversial on these forums and I more than occasionaly rub people the wrong way. Sometimes I just get in these moods and if somebody says something I dissagree with, I make it number one priority too make sure I'm heard also. It's led to a lot of ruined friendships and such but I'm learning to keep it under control......

it's yet another win-win situation

now..what was the question again???
