Informal poll. Curious how high a dose everyone is taking.

100mg for me, and it doesn't feel like it's quite there yet, but have seen a marked improvement overall in my ability to accomplish things.

I'm not as jittery as I used to be, but Coffee is still out. The drymouth is a be-yotch, but luckily they stock plenty of water at my office...

Started at 30mg for one week - no effect.

Now at 60mg for 3 days - slight difference the 1st day, absolutely nothing the last 2 days.

Switched from Concerta 54mg to Vyvanse 50 on day 4...... so far the jury is still out. Concerta lasted longer for me but I was starting to have a lot of anxiety with it, so my doctor moved me to Vyvanse. The first couple of days had terrible headaches in the afternoon, after 4 pm. That seems to be getting better.... I do feel less anxious on this medication than Concerta.

Cautiously optimistic......

100mg - No complaint's vs Adderall but uh my memory sucks compared to what it was on adderall. Was needing around 40-50mg XR daily

30mg/day here, just started it last week. In one week, I'm supposed to bump it up to 60mg and see how it goes.

Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but seems almost like there is a competition to get into a higher dosage with medications..? Is the higher the dosage, the better?
I would think that the lower the dosage that the medicine works at, that means your ADHD is not as severe, right? I've noticed that I'm jittery under Vyvanse, does that mean that I'm not taking enough? I thought the jitteriness was because I was on too high of a dose.

That's an interesting observation. I haven't thought of it that way. I think people are just interested in reading about other peoples' experiences. It's not the higher the better, but what is best for the individual.

I would think that the lower the dosage that the medicine works at, that means your ADHD is not as severe, right? I don't think that dosage has anything to do w/ severity. What's severe to me might not be considered severe to you. How a person responds or what dose they take is based on the individual's body chemistry. Some people can't tolerate the lowest dose of a drug, but still have what they would consider "severe" symptoms.

Some people are jittery when they start a drug or move to a higher dose. Many times this side effect goes away w/ time. If it doesn't and becomes bothersome, you may need to step down a dose or switch.

70mg, going on third week. Was on 30mg for 10days before. I really don't notice a difference as I up the dosage. I'm wondering if I should have stayed on 30 or if I should go up. Most of all, I'm worried about going down and the effects, cause I really like this me.

started at 30, up to 90. it works day to day stuff, but in academics, it's not enough anymore.
(60 in the AM, 30 around noon)

It seems like a lot, so i'm afraid to ask for more

I've been following this forum for a while as I was prescribed ritalin and dexedrine years ago and took only one of each. I have an aversion to medication:eek: I went back recently and tried focalin and now Vynanse and Vynanse works the best for me by far. I only took 1/2 of the 50 mg pill and had about the most productive day of my life (I am 53 years old). And there seemed to be very little rebound or downside afterwards. I plan on using the medication sparingly for days when I can't afford to blow it. I'll try 12 1/2 mg next and report back. Thanks for the great forum. Lots of smart and well informed folks here. Would anyone who has been on both dexedrine and Vynanse care to describe the differences (side effects especially)? Maybe someone already has. I know they are both dextroamphetamine, but I was wondering if there is a difference in effect at comparable dosages. I only took a 5 mg generic dexedrine pill years ago and had had little sleep at the time... and I don't remember very well how that felt. Thanks in advance.
