I have to meet with the school faculty regarding wether or not my daughter qualifies under the statutes of the IDEA regulation for an IEP or FAPE. Looking for advice:)

how old is she ? what is fape ?

Has she been evaluted yet and has a firm diagnosis? That is the first step.

I would become as familiar with the IDEA regulations as possible. How old is she? Where did the dignosis come from?

Try to organize your thoughts on paper ie. notebook. They will already have their agenda in place so you have to be prepared to be as clear as possible what you think her needs are. Before you know it the meeting will be over and you do not want to leave feeling as though you were not heard or left a lot of important points out. Of course there will be more communication in the future and throughout the school year (hopefully) but basically you have to be on them constantly.
