My doc just perscribed me the generic brand of Ritalin, 'Methylin' 20 mgs...
(Take 1 tab in the AM and then another one 6 hours later.) This is the regular short acting doseage. Does this generic brand work as well as the brand name?

Is this a real low dosage? 20mg twice a day?
I took the two pills at 20mg already and don't feel any better quality concentration.

How much do you guys take to make a difference in your concentration?

The 20mg LA he perscribed me at first i did not feel a performance increase.
Then the next appointment he perscribed me 40mg LA but it's going to take a week before RiteAid gets it to me!!

So in the meatime, as I am waiting for the 40mg LA, I'm taking 20mg of Methylin and it seems like a low dosage twice a day. Is this a low dosage?

i'm taking 20mg of the generic a day as well (to go up to 50mg by friday) and so far i feel *alert* but no different otherwise. like i sit around doing nothing all day but i'm more awake about it haha.. i was wondering if the generic works as well as the regular too. so far it's not doing anything useful and frankly i feel like 50mg will be 2.5 times the useless that 20mg has been.. i'll keep watching this thread for hope.

I basically sit online all day around the house too...but I've got occupational training coming up soon...so I'm worried i won't be able to concentrate on this LOW dose. I know I'm going to need to focus!! But my doctor wants to start me off slow even though i took this drug before.

I think the short acting is better than the LA.

Your lucky your going up to 50 by friday...my doctor doesn't go so fast...i wish he would though.

How many mg's do you guys need to make a difference?
