View Full Version : I make people uncomfortable

I have noticed that some people act like they are uncomfortable around. People squirm, avoid eye contact, look around, etc. I noticed it today while meeting with some classmates for a project. While talking to me, one girl did not look in my eyes very often at all and just kept moving around. There was also a sense of urgency displayed by her and I’ve noticed that in other people. The other guy in the group didn’t really act uncomfortable but did not help out very much.

I have been told that I’m an intense and sensitive person so maybe that has something to do with it. I really do try to be normal and all but it doesn’t work out so well.

Any advice?

similar issue... what it comes down to is your communication skills, and how open your mood is at any given time. did this just start?

edit: having read what you you wrote regarding "intense" and "sensitive"... that can come off as "scary"... i dont exactly have the same issue but its close enough... for me i hope it comes down to taking AD's to loosen me up, organize my thinking, etc. so i can participate in conversations fluidly, relaxed, and organized.

hard to say w/o meeting you.

Sound non verbal and like social cognition stuff.

Interpersonal skills training may help a lot.
