it is my whakapapa (family line) right back to the very boat that came to Aotearoa New Zealand from Hawaikii (hawaii) hundreds of years ago.

I once stabbed myself with a 0.016mm draghting pen, now I have a dot in my hand. . . . if you look very carefully it looks like the world. . . . well its round either way.

i have several tattoo's, body modification of all sorts was a habit of mine, I used to have over 30 piercings in my body and my tongue is bifurcated, so it looks like a snake tongue... I was gothic for years... self explanatory:D

I have wanted a tattoo since...forever. Talked myself out of it, mainly because of money. But it's all picked out...the what and the where.

I've got to ask though...

for those that have the popular lower back or front of hip tattoo...the ones on the arms, thigh, bottom...

what happens in old age? Doesn't this (sometimes) intricate design get ruined by weight gain/loss, wrinkles, body becoming more flabby and untoned (not necessarily weight gain, but lack of exercise)?

I love the show LAink. I think the stories of the customers and the artwork is very interesting, very talented artists...but what happens to those pretty face tattoos? We don't stay twenty-something forever.

Mine is planned for just above my ankle (you know where I mean...) so I'm not too worried about old age making it look like a completely different picture.

I hope that mine stay as maintained as they can, I would assume there's some drop or flabbing of it as I grow old, but I don't really know for sure myself, I think you're right on EYEFORGOT

I don't particularly like tattoos..every BUTTERFLY turns into a MOTH..every DOLPHIN turns into a blowfish...all sad, and discoloured..

now..peircings...lol.I LOVE PEIRCINGS

we can get rid of them with no real drama..

I'll have to have Mr. KP take a picture of mine. I have tramp stamp of a crown atop a heart with vines and flowers flanking it. I sent the artwork to have it digitized into a decal for my car. We have matching trampstamps! I picked it out well before I got it last summer. There's no significant meaning except that I love it.

I figure it's on my lower back, only my family and I see it unless I show it off, so I'm not concerned how it'll look as I get older. Heck, I got it just after I turned 38! I want another one, a Japanese Lucky Cat, on my hip. Maybe for my 40th b-day next year.

I have one on my foot of a shooting star type thing. Another constant reminder of my impulsiviness..... since I had it done, then re done and still dont like it. I've decided no more tattoos for me. I've had many piercings, tongue, eyebrow, nose, navel etc..... but now i just have my ears and i dont even wear earrings.

I have 6 :o my favorite is the one I got in honor of a dear friend who died too young.

I have 22 in all. A lot for a female but I can't seem to stop getting them. I have one I like to call my "manic" gecko. It is pretty cool looking and my newest one. I'll take a picture and post it up.

I have 8 now. The bottom one is only about a month old. We are still working on it. Got some touch ups...and some more paws to add down my back...

The HummingBird with "The Brand" LOL is about 3 years old, and on my left upper arm

I got them on both my wrists, my calf, back shoulder, and two in one (also still in progress) on my right arm, and I have one on my chest..right above my heart...

I only had these taken...but once I get the ole batteries charged , I will share a few more....

Derek does them on the side, parties and for family , his brother does it for a living...so it's a wonder I dont' have sleeves, or like 50 more...TG I am running out of places to put them I can hide them at work when clients come in...and I do put them in places that won't um sag? LOL

My avatar is a tattoo on my left arm and I have a moon that looks like a 3 year old drew it on the back of my right shoulder.

The moon was one of those "hey I'm like 30 and need a tattoo - that looks cool!" kind of things while the phoenix came when I got sober as a reminder of my personal rebirth.

Getting the itch for another....

LOL.you should see the saggy skin on my arm..LOL LOl LOL...and imagine that tat, on that skin, because that's what it will look like to YOUR kids :-) and when they want a tattoo..you'll show them the wrinkly green smudge on your arm..and a copy of this thread...and the original tat....and say..

they are freaky tho, those mobsters. they have tats all over their bodies, where big black leather jackets with patches.

ETA: That was our 2006 Mustang GT in the top picture. OH, that was a fun car to drive but as a family car? It sucked. MR. KP traded it for a 2004 Tacoma quad cab 4X4. Funny how he drives the family vehicle and not me!

(read through this first para or skip it if you want, it's not personal) I hate tats. Nothing personal to anyone here, just don't like them. I think that's the sole reason my wife hasn't gotten one yet as I wouldn't find it attractive in any way, maybe detractive even. Heck, I don't descriminate. I don't like piercings either. My wife was the first girl I dated that even had pierced ears (that was just a fluke, not a conscious choice) but she doesn't wear earrings much anymore.

But Kittenpoker, that would be the first tat I've seen I could say I didn't mind. I showed it to my wife who loved with it. Of course it doesn't mean I'd want to look at it every day but to me that ones class.

Back in 1998 he was on a Med Cruise with the US Navy. The ship stopped off in Greece frequently because it always breaking down. Greece is about what, 7-9 hours ahead of Virginia.

I got a phone call from the Mr. one morning. Oh, he was drunk as a skunk!

Him: "My friend Dana got a tattoo."
Me: "That's nice. What'd she get?"
Him: "She got a tattoo of a wolf on her hip. I almost got a tattoo."
Me (think holy ****): "Oh really? What were you going to get?"
Him: "I was going to get a tattoo of Bugs Bunny on my hip to give you something to look at when..."
Me: "How about waiting until you come home. If you still want one we'll drive out to Isle of Wight, okay?"
Him: "Okay."

To this day he doesn't have a tattoo!!! Altho he jokes about getting "Welcome Aboard" on his junk. Heh.

EyeForgot, you should see my speedometer. It's from "Goblet of Fire." It's Harry in his Quidditch gear flanked by Ron and Hermione. I think I'll get a new one made once HBP pictures are released. And the bracket quote is from GoF also. I'm a dork!

I love the pics they take after putting the ointment on it, makes it look nice and shinny, like a sticker! I will be posting more of mine once I get around to digging out the camera!

I only have one tattoo ... it's a butterfly on the side of my leg a couple inches above my ankle. I had it done in 2002 right after my ex dumped me (Round 1 of our relationship). I felt no pain, or maybe I did and enjoyed it, but I don't remember any pain. I liked the feeling, the euphoria. I'd like to have more work done, but I'm a different person now, maybe the pain would only be pain this time. ;o)
