So I"m at work and it seems like my vyvanse has not been working the past couple of days. I already take 50mg every morning...should I take another one today just so I can get my work done? I see the psychiatrist again on Nov 8th so I'm sure he's going to up it anyway...I'm just not sure I can make it until then without getting in trouble at work...I'm getting ready to come off probation next week.

I wouldn't take a whole one. Maybe take half and see how it does?

Eh...I finally gave in. I broke the tablet in half and dissolved the whole thing in water. I drank half of it to see how I would feel and it helped a little, but I may not have given it long enough before drinking the rest of it. I seemed to be a lot more interested in typing meaningless numbers now. I am going to have to call my psychiatrist on Monday to see if there is anything I can do between now and when I see him again. I just don't want him to start me on anything else, because I had such a horrible first day on this medication. Plus, with taking a second dose today I worried about being able to sleep tonight. I don't normally sleep very much now anyways and I have this benefit to do tomorrow for one of our coworkers who just got diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. I have to be at the place by 11am...I have a hard time getting to work by 12:45pm...so yeah I've basically doomed myself and said screw it I'll just be tired tomorrow I guess, but I'm definately not going to back out on all this planning we've been doing.:)

My doctor told me while sampling Vyvanse.. "Ok, I want you to try 50mg daily, then if it's not enough, try 100mg daily... you can take 1 50mg in the morning and another later in the afternoon... or you can take them both at the same time and report back to me how it works." I quickly found out that Vyvanse really does last 12-15 hours as it claims too, yet 50mg was by far not the dosage for me. I've found that when I take either a higher/lower dose on vyvanse... taking it all at once in the AM works much better and produces less side effects. Not sure if it will help you but maybe try that assuming you increase/decrease your dosage.

I've kind of come to terms these past 3 days that my medication is going to have to be increased in dosage, if I want to stay on Vyvanse. Naturally always being the person that never really took medication I prefer to stick to the first thing I start, but eh whatever now. I'm just not sure how that's going to work with that fact I JUST refilled my prescription this morning...Only thing I can think of is he'll tell me to take two until I see him on November 8th and give me a new script for a higher dosage, but my other concern with that is will my insurance cover that? Technically it would mean I got the name medication twice in a 30 day period...I guess I'll have to call the insurance company on Monday too lol Just another thing to add to my list of things to do, I guess.
