Hi all. I never expected this to happen to me but my anxiety and depression has gotten bad enough that the doctor recommended I try partial hospitalization. I just did day one of the program and I have to say I'm feeling better already.

Here's a layout of the day:

8 - 9am: System Process: Being asked how the morning is so far, how was your sleep, apitite, how are you currently feeling, would you like to see the doctor today.

9 - 10am: Structured Therapy

10 - 10:15: Break - Coffee offered and a truck comes where you can buy a snack.

10:15 - 11:15: Group Therapy

11:15 - 12pm: Lunch / Social

12 - 1pm: Daily Activity (Fridays is called Weekenders)

(note: is in co-existing priviate forum but I want my post to be public.)

Hey Andy,

What do you think of it so far? I think that if it is helpful, then stick with it. This is also a great place to be if they switch your meds around, because then you can be observed more for side effects. Sounds like a great place for someone with anxiety and depression.

Partial hosp. programs are great. Many of my clients attend them and really benefit from it. I hope you are able to get a lot out of it and continue to recover. Keep us up to date on how it is going.

Andy, I moved you over to the Co-existing...and Anxiety Section!

I think it will be better served over here...since there are plenty of folks who know what you are going through and can offer support and some possible guideance...

Thanks Hope

Partial Hospitalization Programs seem right up your alley Andy, the DBT groups there will help you with the "Rages" you have described in some of your posts. One thing you should try to do is be open to all treatment suggestions that they recommend.

Well one thing the doctor ther recommend is that I keep taking my pexeva 20mg as it will take time for it to kick in. He will be seeing me on monday. I was mostly in for intake Friday so I didn't get much experience with it yet. I should be able to report more tomorrow.

What kind of program is it? CBT? DBT? Other?

The partial programs in VT are a collaboration of CBT and DBT, they may be different elsewhere.

Trying to keep a journal.

I have a meeting tomorrow.

It will be me, mom, doc, and my therapist, working on my new med treatment plan that we can all agree on since I've been having a bad reaction to loads of meds.

I'm almost done with the Partial Hospital Program. It went by so fast. I have a meeting Monday again the same group (me, mom, therapist, pdoc). This meeting is to descuss my long term plan after I leave partial. We all know that I will be going back to school but otherwize (whether therapy, etc) we will descuss Monday.

I have one more day of Partial.

It's Friday.

After that I will be working to get back into school in January and I'm working right now on getting a Job @ CVS but they are waiting on the background check (grrr. I want to work now... lolz...)

Ian and Richard (two other people in the program) "graduate" with me on Friday.

Too bad there's no party and cake... lolz...

But I hope the cookies then can be chocolate chip...

If you want to ask me something in relation go right ahead. I'm willing to answer any questions you have...

Well I'm done with Partial. My last day was today. I had a great time today. I'm feeling so much better these past three days so I'm planning on keeping it that way.

Soon I will be going to Mercy CDP (continuing day program). This is an outpatient program where I will be from 9 - 3 Monday - Friday. I will have access to a social worker and psychiatrist daily which is what I know I need right now. Things seem to be going in my direction. This program is to be long term, unlike partial or the hospital which are 2 - 3 weeks.
