Does anyone work, have health care coverage, and qualify for medical assistance because of their ADHD? I have health care coverage but it is really bad for mental health. I can barely afford my pdoc visits. I have to get samples of most of my meds because I can't afford the copays. I need to see a therapist but I can't afford the copays. I have a full time job but I don't make much and I have a lot of bills (rent, car, insurance, heat, electric. I don't have credit cards and only afford myself the luxury of internet, no cable). It is really hard to make ends meet sometimes. I also work a part time job but that doesn't pay much either. Was just wondering if anyone was in the same boat as me? I also have bipolar II if that means anything.

I dont recieve any type of assistance, nor do i have any insurance. I have to pay everything out of pocket. :-(

Bipolar, as I understand it, is usually considered to fall under the umbrella of 'serious and persistent mental illness" (along with schizophrenia). (At least it is here in Canada.)

Does it come under medicaid or medicare, etc?

I am not sure. I will have to check into it tomorrow. That is generally the question I was asking. Trying to see if anyone knows that answer

Is Medicare (medicaid), or are gov't healthcare programs, somewhat state specific, too?

If so, You may want to post your question in the Pennsylvania forum?
