OMG! It is halloween obviously, and there are a lot of people off task in my department. The cubicle over from mine their WHOLE team is standing up talking/being loud...it's completely and utterly distracting when I'm trying to focus. It's not like I can just pop my head up over the cubicle because their supervisor is the one instigating(not sure if I spelled that right) it all. I want to scream and am so frustrated right now it's not even remotely on the humorous side. It's to the point I'm trying so hard to focus and it's not working I literally just want to cry. Ever have this problem at work? Even when all the supervisors know the issue?

Yep, all the time. It is like they are all in their own little world and could care less about anyones issues. My cubicle is right in front of a hallway and they stop and talk there all the time. Drives me nuts.

Oh, you work at my place!

We work in a converted warehouse, with many departments and many cubicles. One department is just like the one you have over there, they have parties ALL THE TIME or something, PLUS they have a cackler that the ENTIRE building can hear. I don't care if she's the nicest lady, she'd get more nice points if she cackled a little quieter. Makes doing one's job a little difficult at times, especially for those of us more easily distracted. I'm sorry!

Boy I was so happy when first shift left. I get here at 1245pm and most of them leave at 4pm, so I don't have to deal with them for very long. Still, it makes half of my day a constant struggle especially since I don't think my meds are working anymore.

i have ear plugs in my desk.

Sometimes certain pitches of voice drive me insane.

I describe my distraction - like a kitten with a string.. i cant stop focusing on the noise

Actually, I had my headphones on listening to music. If I would have turned my headphones up any louder I was bound to make myself deaf. I went to my supervisor about it...she said if the other supervisor keeps it up to just let her know. She seems to think it was just because today was halloween and people were dressed up...oh and we found out they're going to send 104 of us to a department meeting in orlando...so it was like everyone was in party mode and I'm like dude...seriously...I've got work on my desk I don't get to leave in an hour. Once they left I had no problems. It was smooth sailing through the rest of the night.
