Hi. I've been seeing a psychiatrist in NW Indiana for the last few years. I initially went to him for depression. It was then that he mentioned that ADD may be a problem. He didn't go into any detail, but has treated me for depression.
I started reading up of ADD and WOW! did it open my eyes. Seemed to explain a lot about myself from childhood. So, I guess I'm basically self-diagnosed.
I've tried to talk to my Dr. about my ADD, but he just always blows me off, saying medication doesn't work for adults, ADD is a minor problem of mine, etc.
I've been on 300 mg Wellbutrin and 100 mg Lamictal twice a day for a few years and feel that my depression is well under control.
I'm trying to get help for ADD as it affects my life to a great extent.
I would like to explore seeing a different Doctor for a new perspective.
Does anyone know of any ADD savvy Doctors in Northwest Indiana, or South Suburban Chicago?
Thanks,
George
