View Full Version : quick question
Irishbarry 11-08-07, 06:52 AM When you need to bring items from one place to another, say from car to house, do you always try to bring everything at once instead of taking half and going back again? And usually dropping half in the process?
Is it just me??
DeloresMelon 11-08-07, 07:13 AM LOL. No, I have to take it all at once. I've nearly broken fingers carrying 10+ grocery bags into the house. I request plastic so I can slip my arm through the handles and load my arms up. In fact, I've often cussed myself for buying so much because I will have to make more than one trip to get it all in the house.
It's something I laugh to myself about because I'm so ridiculous about it. I often delude myself into thinking the neighbors are watching me and my superhuman strength in awe and wonder as I maneuver several cases of sodas and bags of canned vegetables with little effort.
I'm comforted that I'm not the only one. My husband, my huge strong husband is fine with carrying two bags at once and making several trips.
elitephreak7 11-08-07, 08:24 AM I just randomly read your post and it cracked me up!:)
I call my girlfriend Tarzan because she believes she has superhuman strength and tries to carry everything all at once. She'll even reorganize everything outside on the sidewalk and stack all the things up neatly all in hopes of being able to carry more. She always forgets to turn the car off so she comes running back anways, money can't buy this kind of entertainment.
She's a dork I love her and has ADD too....we're a interesting couple.

There are times I feel I should get royalties off the entertainment I bring to my friends and family. I am a great source of amusement for them.
I take everything at once always. I hate taking trips anywhere, even from like you said the car to my house for grocieries because I'm only walking towards ANOTHER trip from the cars to the house instead of getting into the house and getting to eat it or relax. That's just not motivation for me haha.
terrible-syd 11-08-07, 08:56 PM I'm always trying to do 10 things at once with my hands, and suffering... why don't I have more arms? I feel I never have enough hands.
blueyeyore 11-08-07, 10:50 PM I have to take everything at once, otherwise I might get distracted and forget the rest of it is still there...lol yeah it's that bad

 LOL I try to bring it allllllllllllll LOL I do drop stuff too LOL I thought I was the only one who did this. I can't stand going back a few times to unload stuff :p
Spaceman Spiff 11-09-07, 02:45 AM If I don't take it all at once I will usually forget about it for several hours which is bad when there is ice cream or something like that in the car. What's funny though is that I don't feel put out if I drop something and have to run back out to get it, but I do feel put out if I have to make two trips.
It's so intriguing how our brains work.
Honeybunnie8 11-09-07, 04:39 PM I also try and take everything in at once. I never even thought it may be connected with ADD or not. I just hate making trips. Sometimes if i can't take it all in I will decide what dosent have to come in right now and leave it in the car....that's probably why I have 5 cases of soda in my car right now:rolleyes:
My husband often laughs at me for things I do. He finds me very amusing. When I forget about things I am cooking and the fire alarms go off again I tell him "at least we know they work!:D"
I go back n forth even when not trying, mostly from the fact I forget and get slightly ocd about if I left something or locked the door
DeloresMelon 11-10-07, 05:29 PM I just recalled one particular incident where I left approximately 15 POUNDS of ground beef in the trunk of my car for two days because those items unfortunately didn't make it in the superhero run from the trunk to the kitchen.
kilted_scotsman 11-10-07, 06:33 PM Going backwards and forwards is sooooooooooooooooo boring

Nope, not just you, I do the same thing everytime I go shopping. You would think I would learn after the first few times I dropped everything halfway to the house, but nope! I keep doing it. Just did it tonight with 10 shopping bags and a 50lb bag of dog food. Tried to get it all in one trip. Didn't happen!
Irishbarry 11-13-07, 08:09 PM lmao at all your replies..............................
thanks, it helps:rolleyes:
Ps. What do you think of my little angel in my avatar?
She's very cute :)
I always carry as much as I can from one place to another - the thought of going back... OOH THE HORROR! Honestly... I've broken more with this method than if I would've just gone back a 2nd time but heck - time is money but so are broken things so... It all evens out in the wash yea!
Less Time + More Broken Things = 5$
More Time + Less Broken Things = 5$
Clearly ... anyone that critisizes my methods is clinically insane. =)
