Has anyone here ever tried some of the natural helps out there such as: essential oils, massage, meditation, or any of the such to at least help with add symptons. My son was prescribed methylin and a naturalist I know said to be very careful about such meds. But to try some of the natural things. . . lavendar essential oil in a massage lotion was one thing, specifically massaging the feet and hands as a daily thing. She was not saying it's a cure or anything but that it would help and he would more than likely show some improvement. She also talked of aromatherapy as being helpful. What do you all think?

Give the naturopath a try, but my advice is to do it in addition to treatment by a licensed medical doctor. If it helps be glad. There is some (unproven) reason to hope that omega 3 might beneficial to adhd but all the facts are not yet known. The plain truth is that diet is not linked to ADHD, but eating right is a good idea eh? So maybe dietary suppliments won't hurt.

The bottom line is, do what works, but the only proven treatment for adhd thus far is medication. The medical establishment says that the ideal treatment for adhd is a combo of medication and therapy.

When it comes to controversial treatments all bets are off as to if they work or not.
