ADD is generally considered to be a "neurological disorder". (Just like how Epilepsy or Seizure Disorder is considered a Neurological Disorder, too.)

It is "involuntary".

There is no "cure". But there is parent education, assessment (of the neurological deficits using special Testing of the memory problems) and management.

Can you tell us more about your child's issues?

If your son has ADHD, it doesn't mean he cannot be 'normal'.
I mean, what is 'normal'?
'Normal' is boring anywho.
No one is 'normal'.
Everyone is 'different'.

If your son has ADHD, he can be helped and treated to cope better, and to deal with things better, and to treat the symptoms, though the ADHD will never go, he may be helped in someway to reduce the ADHD symptoms and to focus better, etc.

I am 99.9% sure I have ADHD...my dimaag is always talking blah blah blah i always want to work on sumthing new..im very creative... I was so sad last week and thought omg i might had adhd..did some research..its all makes sense now why i am theway i am lol and to tell u the truth im kinda happy i have adhd cuz it makes me a very creative and funny person
