Has anyone heard of or tried a natural product called Elevera? If not would u google it and tell me what you think. As someone who doesn't relish the idea of taking Ritalin etc, it reads impressive.
Thank you lovely peeps

Here's what's in it: (http://www.kupers.biz/custom.em?pid=560611)
Elevera is a potent combination of pharmaceutical-grade: L-Theanine, 5-HTP, Citrus Aurantium, Kola Nut, Caffeine, Rhodiola, L-Tyrosine, Vitamin B3, B6 & B12, Vitamin C, DMAE, Siberian Ginseng, Schizandra, Bioperine, Magnesium, Acetyl-L-Carnitine & DL-Phenylalanine.

Main ingredient
L-Theanine (http://www.drugs.com/npc/l-theanine.html)
Black, oolong, and green tea are produced from the leaves of Camellia sinensis. C. sinensis is native to eastern Asia and is a member of the Theaceae family. This evergreen shrub or tree has dark green, serrated-edged leaves. L-theanine is a unique amino acid found only in the tea plant.***End Quote
I personally would not be able to take this because it contains 5-HTP a precursor to sertonin. The last time I took 5-HTP it sent me into mania. Apparently I am very biologically close to actually being bi-polar II and a little sertonin tweak is all it take to send me right over the edge into mania - not even the pleasant kind.
I do enjoy green tea so apparently I have no problems with the L-Theanine.
I am sensitive to citrus period, I already take B vitamins, gensing, omega-3, daily and a magnesium supplement {Mg+ twice a week only}
I personally do not care for poly-ingredients {some thing containing several things in one pill} because if I have a reaction like I did with the 5-HTP I would have no clue which ingredient caused the adverse event. I know it was 5-HTP that caused the mania because it was the only new supplement and it was the only active ingredient. Had it been a part of a herbal remedy like it is in this particular Brand I would have no clue what cause the onset of mania.
The only exception would be if I have already taken ALL the ingredients separately and knew them to be safe for me.
Remember any thing that can have an effect on the body can have a bad effect this rule is NOT limited to prescription medications. It applies equally to herbal supplements as well as natural foods them selves.
Hope this helps.

Ok that makes sense. I'm not hyper in any way so i wouldn't have the same issues with it in that respect so might give it a try. I do have an intolerance though and it's one no one else except my mother is familiar with strangely enough. I will look in meds forum to see if natural products are popular / or even work for Adders. I guess i was in the wrong forum but thanks for the in depth reply.
