In looking at ADD (and this is still new to me) it would seem that focusing on the positive characteristics is ESSENTIAL and having a place to express those characteristics is also ESSENTIAL. When out of balance, disaster results.
SO...how 'bout a little survey!
1. What job do you currently have?
2. What job or position would you like to have?
3. What is an ideal atmosphere for you?
4. How do you use you special-ness (that extra sensitivity) in your career choice and school choices (college majors, etc)?
For myself; I am a teacher, drummer, play piano, wrote a book, into tropical fish, live music, outdoors
1. Consultant
2. Information Security Professional
3. Constant change, challenges, chaos and mayhem
4. I thrive in situations where I am "putting out fires", wearing different hats and stim-u-lated!
I have had so many roles, jobs & experiences...for the most part I have been drawn to tempo-appropriate jobs :)

I had a great interview today....I'm pinching myself so I thought I would add to this thread.....
1. Dietitian (seeking)
2. Patient Care
3. Busy atmosphere with a bunch of medical professionals all working toward same goal of helping very sick patients. Everybody around me is very smart. Constant challenge, thinking what to do with a patient, consulting with others about what to do with patient, working with a team, charting my intelligence(!) in the medical record to show them what I know (not really) but sometimes I think this is what really goes on in medical records...spouting out medical jargon....
4. Diet education to patient.....my smile, patience, intelligence, wisdom, compassion, empathy and knowledge all come through....

1. What job do you currently have?..I work with children
2. What job or position would you like to have?...I'm good right where I am, for now....
3. What is an ideal atmosphere for you?...fast paced, easy going, friendly....
4. How do you use your special-ness (that extra sensitivity) in your career choice.... I'm good at tuning into people's feeling, so working with kids this fits in very well. Because I love change I can easily ajust to the many change that come with my job.....

Sounds just like you Paula. Ya know -- this is a great thread. I am rating it a five-star:)....thanks Pocketplayer for starting it....By the way, Paula, that combination you have in your number 3 -- fast paced and yet easy going and yet friendly -- all sounds good...that's what I like too. I can't stand SLOW-PACED. I go nuts and yet it has to be easy going and friendly.

2. Telecom Engineer or Project Manager.
3. Very fast paced, juggling a few balls and dancing on Chaos.
4. I like working with people, not just equipment. Having some possible element of training or mentoring developing employees might be a really good thing for me.
