I have 2 pills left. I threw away the whole brand new bottle of 30 pills by accident and yesterday was trash pickup day :-( .

I need suggestions. It costs me $50 for the co-pay. The pharmacy told me that my insurance may not approve the over-ride in which case I'd have to pay full price. My doctor also has to write a new one and call in and confirm it before I drop it off. I am so low on cash due to the holidays that another $50 co-pay when I just paid it 3 days ago is going to effect me, I'd be screwed if I had to pay full price.

When I first started on it my doctor gave me a physical card for 30 free capsules. I found a voucher online, but it specifically says that its only for the "first 30 capsules". I'm assuming I can't use that but if anyone knows different please let me know.

I'm not freaking out because I do have 2 left. I don't want to miss days on it, I really like how I am on it. I'm just not in a great situation financially and this is the last thing I need. Please, if you have any advice I would appreciate all the help!

Try the voucher, it might work, if not you may be able to call shire and get prescription assistance through them, check shire.com about that.

if you'll use the voucher, go to a pharmacy you've never been to (make sure not to go to an affiliate of the same company as they usually share the files), odds are they dont
have you on file and will gladly accept it, if they think they will see you every 30 days.

I would try the voucher, but if you have insurance the pharmacy may have run the voucher w/ your insurance info. (There's specific instructions on the voucher for the pharmacy to follow for insured patients)

Let us know what happens. I've always wondered what is stopping people from using the free vouchers over and over.

Are you or your doc opposed to Dexedrine until next month? Might be a hassle trying to figure out a dosage, but at least its something. And it's a lot cheaper.

Yes, just FYI, when I used the voucher, I had to do a phone survey and they ran it through my insurance. The "free month" covered my co-pay, but I believe the insurance paid the rest. I apologize if I missed you saying this, but did you tell your doctor what happened? Maybe he/she would be willing to write you another rx - you could offer to put in writing that you lost it/threw it away? Your insurance may also agree if you or your doctor calls and explains the situation....Just an idea...That is a crappy situation to be in!!!

My doctor agreed to write me a new script, but he wants to do either 3 scripts of 10 each or 2 of 15 just so it looks like he's keeping an eye on me i guess?

I may try going to another pharmacy with the voucher, but wont i get rejected on the phone activation part because I've already given them my info? I was thinking about having my father do it as I'm still covered under his insurance, and then have him fill it. You think it would work because he is still the main subscriber on my plan?

Got the override, one issue:
30 pills and under costs $50 co-pay. Insurance approved up to 30 more pills this one time, doctor wouldn't. I couldn't get back to him and I had absolutely none left, so I had to pay $50 for the 15 pill prescription he wrote me.

Has anyone signed up for express scripts with vyvanse? (apparently its cheaper, still looking into it)

Well that's better than it could've been. Do express scripts = mail order... 90 day supply through your insurance co?

I had my first physician "confiscate" my first 30 pills (well, actually 29). Got a new prescription today and - nope - couldn't use the free 30 day offer again. Any thoughts on getting the 30 days again?

Glad that you're new doc started you on Vyvanse the right way. Contact Shire about your experience w/ Vyvanse and how your doc "confiscated" your pills. It's doubtful that they'll make any exceptions for you, but you never know. It's a shame that you had to waste your free trial on that other guy.

How did that happen? I'm having trouble imagining it.

I had a "bad" reaction to the 70 mg -- hyper, etc. He asked me to come in and "bring my pills" the next day. Then he took them.

It was odd.

And didn't give you a reciept or a refund or anything? I'm not sure what to make of that. Wonder what happened to the pills?
