Adderall seems to help me a lot while im on it but as soon as it runs out I feel SUPER ADHD and cant consentrate on anything for more than a few seconds.
Is this normal or what?
Could this mean that my dose durring the day is too high and I have withdrawl or something? My doctor put me on 30mg a day even though I have been on 20mg in the past.

XR or IR?

It could mean that your dose is too high. I have withdrawal symptoms on Adderall and my doc does think that the cause of them is having been on too high a dose. He also thinks, however, that if I'm experiencing such symptoms that perhaps Adderall is not the right drug for me.

Did 20mgs work well for you in the past? If so, I would see if you can get back on that. Why did your doctor increase the dose?

Yeah, your dosage could be too high or you might need XR if you're taking IR, etc.

Also, you might need to try a non-stimulant like Strattera.

I'm interested too to know if you had these side effects in the past when you were taking 20mg???

Yes, when I was prescribed Adderall I noticed that after it wore off I had more difficulty concentrating than before I took it. It's because the dopamine in your brain is lower than normal when the drug wears off.

That's one of the things that can happen with/after the comedown. It shouldn't be really really bad but it does tend to happen to a lot of people to some extent when their stimulant meds wear off at the end of the day. It's kinda like wearing glasses all day, then taking them off. At first it may seem like your vision is even worse than before you put the glasses on because you're more aware of the difference and your eyes might also need time to readjust.

I had more problems with that on Adderall than I do on dexedrine but I do still get a little spacey and when the dex is wearing off. Not nearly as bad though and I was on a fairly low dose of Adderall. But I feel kinda dingy by comparison during that time after having been more focused all day. It's probably not any worse than I usually am when unmedicated, I just notice the difference more.

If you did well on 20mg, I see absolutely no reason to be taking 30mg. It's definitely not as bad at lower doses.
If you continue to have serious problems with this even after trying lower doses, you might want to try giving another med a shot.

Are you taking XR?
When is it running out? If it's too early in your day and you
still have things that need to be done, then ask your doc
to add a small dose of Adderall IR. You have to experiment
with the dose and when to take it so that it doesn't keep
you up at bedtime.

...as soon as it runs out I feel SUPER ADHD and cant consentrate on anything for more than a few seconds.
In the absense of any other symptoms, it might mean
that you've hit the right dose for you. That you've spent
the day with your brain working at it's best. And that
when the med runs out, you're getting the full onslaught
of what it had been like for you before you started
taking any meds. I know that sometimes I think the
meds aren't doing anything and then when I don't take
that last dose, it hits me full force and I realize just
how much they *are* doing for me.

On the other hand, if you do have other symptoms in
addition to the scatter-brain effect, it might well be too
high a dose. If you're taking IR, try 25 mg and see how
that feels. If you're taking XR, talk to your doc about
taking 20mg with an end of the day low dose of IR.

My doctor increased my dose for a very retarded reason although it was technically logical, the reason he gave was idiotic.
I have been taking adderall for a few years but I switched to concerta a few months ago(long story lol). I was taking 36mg of concerta until I decided I hated it (it was useless and caused me more anxiety) so I wanted to go back to Adderall XR. I had a few Adderall XR 20mg's laying around so I started taking them again and I was so happy with it that I went to the doctor and said I wanted to switch. He said that I should take Adderall XR 30mg because I was taking 36mg concerta and it would "look better on paper". I was ok with it because I thought maybe I needed more so why not see...
I also started Neurontin for my anxiety at the same time so at first I blamed the side affects in it. Not until today when I stoped Neurontin did I realise that the Adderall is actually making my brain tingle and my right eye view things darker than my other eye. I'm not sure if this is even possible but it seems to be happening.
My guess is that this dose is too high causing my inability to concentrate at all while medicated. I'm not really sure how it could mess with my eye, maybe I have an eye problem that I didnt notice until I took to much Adderall. this eye problem likely exagerated by Adderall is probably causing my brain to feel weird.

All I know for sure is that something is very wrong and I need to fix it as soon as I can.

If the ADD symptoms return after the medication begins wearing off it is called a rebound (http://www.bestonlinedictionary.com/medical-terms-dictionary/medical-dictionary-r/re/Rebound%20effect.htm) effect - the eye problems sounds like some thing you need to address with your doctor it is not a "normal" or "expected" side effect of Adderall - if it accompanied by weakness to one side of the body then you need to seek immediate medical attention.

The eye symptom could be some sort of "tic" brought on by the Adderall. I'd talk to my doc and maybe try a lower dose and see if it goes away. If not, you may need to try something else.
How long has it been since you quit the Neurontin? How long did you take it for?

"Beacause it'll look better on paper" is absolutely the most ridiculous reason for changin someone's meds that I've ever heard (and I've seen a lot of nutty docs, believe me... lol). Especially for *increasing* the medication. Absurd.
Tell you doc you want to go back down to the lower dose. Then I would STRONGLY suggest shopping for a new doc. :P

I have taken Neurontin only twice and have stoped taking it two days ago.
I feel these symptems while on Adderall up until about 8 hours into it. I decreased my dosage to 20mg again today and I felt better but still not very good. The first few days I took adderall were not that bad, basically how I remembered it, but now I feel like it is making me a little worse.

Is it possible that these side affects will go away after a period of time?
Also, is taking a break from it over the weekends a good idea or does that increase side effects?

Maybe I am just feeling a lot more anxiety or something... I feel insanely more anxious on Adderall than when off meds. My mind seems to be swimming but if I force myself to focus than I can focus really well. Maybe I just need to get used to it a little before it starts working right?
I dont remember Adderall being this bad before. :(
