I started Adderall (generic, 15 to 20 mg twice daily) October 3, 2007 following my new A.D.H.D. diagnosis. I am trying to find something that helps me be consistent academically and not make tons of careless mistakes (well, that's not just academics).

First month went great, and my focus for studying for the LSAT was great, no problems. Second month leading up to Dec. 1 LSAT was not good. I had taken a week long break from meds and studying when I got a respiratory infection around Halloween, but since then, never got close to same effects.

It seemed to help somewhat with focus - I was not making as many careless mistakes and I did not have many daydreams while taking practice sections. However, I would totally zone out a lot, lose track of time, and not move quickly enough to get to all the problems.

Couldn't figure out what happened. How can studying more make me do worse? :( I go to my doctor in January to discuss meds, but I was wondering what you all thought. Adderall losing effectiveness after one month? Suffering from burn out? Help please!:)

Is testing anxiety a possibility?

That's a great question, and one that some have suggested to me. I asked my psychiatrist who supposedly specializes in anxiety disorders and A.D.H.D. and some other areas. She seemed to blow off my test anxiety I guess thinking it was normal. I feel like she does a good job, but I'm sure there are better out there. Hey, she takes my insurance and wasn't as nuts as the neuropsychologist I saw. I will check with her again.

Thanks for the help!
