Does anyone else find that they get unusually thirsty when taking Adderall?

Yes, I have been very thirsty as well! Add that to no appetite, food tasting blah, cold feet and hands, no sleep and it is not fun!

I have taken adderall for a few days, and while I am teaching, my mouth gets SO dry!! I have to take drinking breaks a couple times per class! It feels like I'm really dehydrated, but I don't think that's the case...just a side effect of the medication.

Not really an appetite on adderall either...not that I feel sick, just that I don't have the urge to eat most times (and forget about eating).

Sleeping hasn't been any different for me, though ever since I can remember, it takes me an hour or two to fall asleep most nights, and I also wake up 5-6 times/night on average. Hasn't changed since I've been on adderall.

Very normal side effect - amphetamines like Adderall are diuretics IIRC - which explains why people taking ecstacy (which is another type of amphetamine, officially called MDMA) have to drink so much water.

If you stay well hydrated the dry mouth will go away as your body adjusts to the med.

It is a normal side effect. Adderall is made up of salts which could explain why you are thirsty. Know how thirsty you get when you eat a lot of your favoirte potato chips? Could be close to the same thing.

Adderall makes me VERY thirsty. Add that to the dry mouth side effect, and it means I'm drinking a lot of water. Personally, I don't mind the side effect at all, because I'm definitely getting my 8 glasses a day.

Have been on Adderall for 6 years, and drink about 1/2 gallon a day. I am a very thirsty person. I go alot too!:eek:
