I need your advice. I am having sleep issues that are probably partially related to the Adderall IR. I have been having problems getting to sleep at night and it doesn't seem to be effected by lowering my afternoon dose (which I usually take around lunchtime). The sleep is better now that I have written my doctor about possibly changing the type of therapy we are doing as now I am now agonizing in bed about the issue. But, still am having some issues and need some sleep advice.
I am finding that I often am exhausted early evening then get a second wind. If I am exhausted at 7 or 8 tonight, should I just go to sleep even if it means I wake up at 4 am? If that happened could I slowly move myself back up to something like a 11-7 pattern?
If I have a sleepy period during the day, should I take a nap? If so, how long can I take before it might mess up my ability to go back to sleep?
If I have problems sleeping again tonight and don't fall asleep until 2 or 3, how late should I let myself sleep if I am trying to get my sleep back on good schedule?
(Note: I have been trying things like drinking warm milk, taking valerian and melatonin.)
These questions are for not just today, but for future reference.
I am feeling like I might be able to get a good night's sleep tonight if I set it up for a good night's sleep tonight (no computer late, have the TO DO list done earlier in the day, do relaxing breathing exercises etc)
I have been on Adderall for less than a month and want to give it a fair shake. If I can't get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, my brain will never be sharp enough.
