See i generally take it in the morning around 4am and i know its early but i have school and i like to get up early and prepare (prob mostly habit because it took me so long to get ready before meds) but recently i feel like adderal just hasn't had the same UMPH it did before.. could this be because recently i have gotten up later and later because it takes less time to get ready but that also means i eat breakfast right after i take my adderal pill.. will the food and drink possibly slow down the assorption so much that i really notice it that much?

sorry for the longest run on sentence on the planet but i am in a hurry :)

My psychiatrist told me when I started on Adderall that people tend to think it is losing its effect after awhile mainly because they are simply more used to how they feel on it.

hmm try not eating before or after you take it. 1 hour before, 2 hours after (though everyone is diff. as far as absorbtion time is concerned)

i had a similar problem, and found that taking it with food, or around the same time as food, completely diminishes its effect on me, though i can still feel when i come down in the early evening (slight headache, jaw gets a little stiff).

also, how long have you been taking it? maybe you havent reached your "perfect" dose yet. i just got bumped from 20mg XR to 30XR. 20mg was fine for 2 weeks, then the last 2 weeks before my follow up appt. i took it and felt the same all day, no improvement on focusing anymore, bounced my leg and still fidgeted constantly. So depending on how long youve been on it, your body might just have gotten used to it and you need to get your dose adjusted. do you still feel the same as far as focus/concentration is concerned?

good way to test that is not take it for a few days and ask the people who are around you often if they see a difference in behavior. or try to read a book/magazine, you will really see the difference.

i asked my mom a few days ago (i'm 21, btw) if i really have changed since taking adderall and she looked at me and said i was way more hyper and off-the-wall boucy before and all through childhood, but that she loved me anyway and just accepted me like i was. she said it really did make a difference in me though, my focus and my overall behavior and how i react to people/situations (especially were arguments are concerned). so i believe it was totally worth it to start taking adderall.

My experience so far (almost 4 months on Adderall) is that it makes little difference on me at all if I eat it with or without food. But I think I am the exception here. I generally take mine late in the morning 10-11 so I can benefit from it til close to bedtime.
