Hello,
I have been lurking a lot lately and am very interested in finding an alternative treatment for my ADD-PI. I currently have adderall and vyvanse and althhough I benefit greatly from them, I don't tolerate the comedown well, nor the chemical rollercoaster they take me on as I don't use them daily and never have. I also am not wild about having to take an amphetamine for the rest of my life, so I find this research into new drugs and nootropics very exciting and find this CX717 particularly interesting. Couldn't find any threads on it, so I figured I'd sharehttp://addforums.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Appears to be very intersting, unfortunately for ADDers it doesnt look like ampakines will be approved for treatment any time soon. http://newideas.net/adhd/adhd_medication_10

Yeah thats crap about the fda, but hopefully after they see proof that
"the specific histopathological changes seen in animal toxicology studies, which previously caused the FDA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FDA) to put CX717 on clinical hold, is a postmortem fixation artifact and is not found in the tissue of the animal when it is still living."
they will get the green light. Anyway, once its released for alzheimers I'm sure that my doc wont mind doing some off label experimenting with me, propabley cost a ****load without insurance though.

Someone on another board described its effects, which to me sounded similar to piracetam -- which also plays with AMPA. Don't think they found it particularly focusing, good in other ways however.
I'm told this (and relatives) are available from some custom synthesis companies, but extremely, extremely expensive. When I'm rich I'll pick some up.

Cool, didn't know that you could get your hands on it already. I wonder if he was taking a sufficient dose, as the study showed that the ADD dose is much larger than for alzheimers. Anyway, hopefully it will come out soon.

I have seen on another board (imminst.org) reports about CX-516 but not about CX-717. Where did you see that?
