I was wondering if anyone else had an experience like mine? I was on Adderall for around a year when I went to the dentist and discovered that I was grinding my teeth pretty hard-core at night.

I was utterly shocked when I actually looked at my teeth in the mirror: the wear marks were impressive! I had noticed that my teeth were hurting more and I was getting more headaches after I started the medication, but just thought it was a weird side effect, possibly due to sinus issues.

I am now not on any meds at the moment (and doing o.k.), but I just wanted to give ppl a heads up if you have similar symptoms. I don't know what can be done about it (besides getting a mouth guard for night use; that might not help as I did notice I was really clenching my teeth during the day as well), but I was quite taken aback by how bad things had gotten.

I know it is a common side effect. Thanks for the heads up! I notice that I kind of do this during the day. I'm sure I do it during night, too. Not sure how to prevent it.

I have the jaw clenching with any stimulant and I have been prescribed them all.

My son grinds his teeth, hopefully not daily. I first noticed it when we were at camp and were sharing a bedroom....it woke me up and I was alarmed to hear him doing this.

Hi, I clench my teeth when I take adderall too (I'm prone to it anyway). I use a mouth guard (when I remember) If I don't use it; I wake up with a horrible headache and pain underneath my ears. It's weird that this med causes this.

One thing about the mouth guard is that when you start grinding it will wake you up (or it does me) and then I have a hard time getting back to sleep.

Same here.... it makes my teeth/gums "itch" if you know what I mean. That makes me want to clench and grind more often.
