I'm currently taking a high dose of Ritalin (40mg x 3) according to my doctor. He is considering adding a booster of Ritalin, or switching me to Adderall. Can anyone who has taken both of these compare the effects for me? I understand Adderall is stronger, but how much Ritalin (in mg) is equivalent to a 20mg dose of Adderall?
I'm curious too.

Ballpark comparison works out to almost 2:1 when comparing amphetamines to methylphenidate. Both are about equally as effective but from the studies I've read most do better on amphetamines because doctors don't properly dose patients on methylphenidate meds.
So, 20mg of Adderall is approximately equal to 40mg of Ritalin.
The better, more potent form of methlyphenidate (Focalin) is about equal on a mg to mg basis with amphetamines.
