This is the second time I have lost a prescription given to me by my pscyhiatrist. I'm going out of town tomorrow so basically I'll be totally unmedicated. Eh, fine with me, it's better than being on Focalin at least--that stuff was just making me depressed.

Still, it's so frustrating that I am losing these prescriptions...and also so fitting because of my ADD. It's kind of funny, actually.

You should go to the pharmacy as soon as you get your prescription! That's what I do.

I always put my script in the zipper inside my purse...I take it that day or the next. I tend to lose scripts a lot...happened to me back in August...I shrugged it off; it was just antibiotics...I didn't want them anyway. This is the second time I have lost a prescription given to me by my pscyhiatrist. Ask him to FAX YOUR PRESCRIPTION directly to your pharmacy.

Ask him to FAX YOUR PRESCRIPTION directly to your pharmacy.Several pharmacies in my area are no longer accepting this and will only fill a prescription when they have the original in their hands.

You can't fax or call in certain controlled substances. I know you can't call in or refill amphetamines here. I'm not sure about methylphenidate meds though. I believe I had to drop off a physical prescription for Concerta the one time I got it but I can't recall.

I always just go straight to the pharmacy when I get a 'script. Luckily, dex is the only thing I hafta get an actual prescription for. I just have the rest called in.

lol, sorry to hijack but that last post made me remember the couple of times I've left my script at a national chain store that has a pharmacy. I would wander off to shop while waiting for my script and forgot. lol

That's not allowed in the USA for schedule II controlled substances. It has to be hand written, and delivered in person, unless in cases if an extreme emergency.

Hey, everyone.

Yeah, for these drugs I have to pick up the script from my doc in person.

Got a new one, got it filled. Glad that's over and done with, at least for this month!

I know myself and I can lose $100 from the time I withdraw it from an atm to the time I get back to my car. And I am not joking - this happens more than I care to admit. I always find it (sometimes days later), but I don't do well with paper.

I go straight from my appt to the pharmacy. If they mail it, I put it in a zippered pocket of my purse and go to the pharmacy that day, even if it's late.
