How many hours does a dose last for you ?

I'm trying to find the right amount and am curious as to how long (I assume in hours) does a dose last for you.

I find that in the afternoons, a 5mg dose doesn't last as long as it does in the morning. Anyone else get this.

At the moment, I'm trying 5mg at 3 hourly intervals - starting about 9 or 10 in the morning then every 2/3 hours after that.

Well I take 12.5 mg twice a day, and 10 mg in the afternoon. I'd say my first two doses last about four hours each. The last dose I take probably lasts about the same amount of time but I seem to be able to go on a little longer.

My prescribed dose is for 20mg of the immediate release tablets taken 3 times a day.

I find that a 20mg dose typically last me about 3.5 hours on average.

However, during the first couple of years of taking this medication I found that it would typically last me about 4.5 hours on average.

Right now it seems that my first dose lasts 4-5hrs and my second 3-4. Unless I sleep in, I end up taking a third and how long that is effective seems directily linked to how tired I am by that point.

Dex is really easy to become tolerant of, however, if you don't take med vacations for a few days every once in a while. It also seems really dehydrating so you must compensate or else you end up feeling really really icky.
