View Full Version : Family Genetic Study of Tourette Syndrome, ADHD and OCD

12-24-07, 12:40 PM
Hello everyone,

Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are looking for
families with a child at least 6 years old diagnosed with one or more
of these three conditions (TS, ADHD, OCD) to participate in a genetic
study. All family members will be asked to complete interviews,
questionnaires and assessments examining thinking processes. We also
want a blood or saliva sample from everyone for DNA testing. Families
will be paid $100 upon completion of all study tasks.

We are primarily looking for families in the New England area, but we
sometimes travel to other areas of the country for data collection.
**We plan to visit Houston in March, 2008.

Will there be any studies in the Illinois/Missouri St. Louis area?

I would possibly be interested in taking part in the study, however while my family is in western New York, I am in Seattle. Will you be in the northwest at any time?

Hi there,

Thank you both for your interest in our research. Because our budget allows for limited travel, we typically make one trip away from New England each year. We choose locations based on the number of interested participants we've heard from in a given area.

If you are interested in learning more about participating, you can submit your contact information securely through our website at ( and we will contact you if we plan to be in your area. Currently, there are no trips planned for the Pacific Northwest, Illinois, or St. Louis.
