If you would like to spell check your content prior to posting at ADDF you can do it now with ieSPELL by clicking on the little "ABC" Icon with the Check mark under it located to the upper right hand side of the text input window (when posting).

If you don't already have it installed it will prompt you to install it (usually). If you would like to find out more about it, please visit the following link:
http://www.iespell.com

Download here:

If you have any questions about the spell checker, please ask them here..

Thanks,
David

Hi David
When I clicked on the download link, is shows several different types of programs that can be downloaded. Could you please tell us which one exactly we should click on??

Thank you SO very much

Sure. Each one of those download links are basically mirrored sites so if any one of them is busy you can download from another one. I just used the first one which is CNet's download site for the program.

I tried to download it at CNET, and after sending me an email to comfirm my registration, I clicked on the stuff it said to, and then it said "Thank you for downloading ispell 2.5.1 build 106."

The thing is, normally when I download something I get a box that pops up and ask me if I want to open, or save, or cancel. I never saw that happen with this, it just said thank you for downloading.

I decided to come back here and see if I maybe it had downloaded by trying to create a post, and when I clicked on the icon for the spell check I got a pop-up box telling me that I need to download ispell.

Is anyone else having problems downloading this? I mean I'm following all the steps, I'm doing the work, I'm baby stepping. I'm not a slacker...

Seriously though, is there something simple I am missing here?

If you click on "Download Problems" near the bottom of the page, the next page will give you a direct link. Click the link in item #1 (Try one of these alternative download sources).

As far as what is causing this, you might want to look at the Internet Explorer security settings to make sure that the "Launch programs and files in an IFRAME" option is set to Prompt or Enable (not recommended) (Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Custom Level).

suer think! i vil kif tis e ty! butt ektualie i ton'd realiti net it :-)

Seriously, Why is nobody using the plug in for Firefox/Netscape or now Flock??? Works just like in Word - words magically underline them self and you wonder why! right cklick and you get the suggestion. Without that I could not communicate with you fine guys.
BABYLON is an a Diceman's sent, imagine you click on any word and you get the correction plus synonymies, antonyms, translation into most common foreign language from Klingon to Mandalorian, expressions, if you click on something like for example ADHD, NASA, SSRI, Schopenhauer or Nietzsche you get a summed up wiki article. Click on let's say 100Euro and the corrency coverter comes up. I have to stop now.

I other words, the best disguise for foreign ADHD fools like me! :-)

feedback is appreciated guys!!! If I don't respond I did't like it!!

Firefox 2.0.0 and greater doesn't even require a separate plugin to do this (though there probably are some that enhance this feature) as it's built in. Prior versions required a separately downloadable plugin.

Thanks for explaining that. I have used iespell for many years. I was getting frustrated when my right click would not initiate iespell. This works great!

Oh yes, thanks for the update, of course English is already included so you guys don't have to do anything except typos :-). Very convenient.

(I was thinking about the German and Spanish Add-on... that was some extra work!)

BTW, AOL & co decided to discontinue my favorite Netscape  browser for reasons I don't wanna hear in order to keep my cardiac cycle under control..... And suddenly our media comes up with like "Browser War 2.0", and it clearly foresees the Microsoft IE8 investment, now that "finally" Netscape is gone, the total triumph of the Browsers......??? any opinion on this?
